Roughly, yes.
My tax court case revolves specifically around whether the work I did for 2020 was “income-producing.”
I had assumed, like everyone else, that all work for pay produced “income” prior to researching the topic in depth.
Only when I discovered that cannot possibly be true did I begin to request refund of everything that had been withheld.
The irs doesn’t really want anyone to do that so they’re fighting me for it.
My purpose with this stack is to share what I learn through the process.
